Hello! Elly Tier here. I am a senior at Columbia College Chicago currently serving as the talent coordinator for this year’s DocYourWorld event. I also happen to be a post production intern for Kindling Group and was excited to find out we’d be able to screen Radical Grace. I have been following this film for about a year now and have been a fan of it since I first knew of its making. The film challenges communities to question the role of patriarchy in the church, and it will be a perfect fit for the event as our spotlight piece for Day 2 of DocYourWorld, on May 4.

Through a free series of panels, screenings and discussions, DocYourWorld unites Columbia College students, faculty, alumni and industry professionals across the fields of film, television, radio, photography, journalism, creative nonfiction, and interactive arts and media. By examining and celebrating our various approaches to the development, creation, and instruction of nonfiction content, we hope to reclaim the word “documentary” and invest it with relevance and new meaning. DocYourWorld spans the course of two days, May 3-4 from 10am-8:30 p.m., at the Film Row Cinema. It is free and open to the public, but we will be accepting donations through GoFundME. All of the money raised gets put towards awards for student filmmakers.
