It is our pleasure to welcome a new intern cohort to Kindling Group this spring! Per usual we’ve got a strong crew, bringing experience in video, digital organizing, and television to the table — as well as some a cappella chops, a pet cat, and a ukelele. Our interns will work on both Kindling Group engagement campaigns and post-production, and we can't wait to dive in.

Meet the interns!

Timothy McManus - Loyola University, MFA. Tim is a graduate student in Digital Media at Loyola University. By working towards this degree, one of his goals is to craft stories that create empathy and inspire change. Although he has always loved film in general, it was The Thin Blue Line that made him realize the power of documentaries. When he’s not working on projects for school, you can find him in his neighborhood of Logan Square or at the Music Box.

Allison Koss - Columbia College, BFA. Allison Koss is a senior at Columbia College Chicago pursuing a degree in Television Writing and Producing. She currently works as a producer at student run television station, Frequency TV, and has helped produce several independent student projects such as comedy web series, Liberal Arts, as well as directed her own short documentary film in Bonn, Germany. She very excited to intern at Kindling Group and looks forward to working with people who are extremely passionate and talented at what they do!

Ellen Dziubek, DePaul University, BFA. Ellen Dziubek is Digital Cinema student in her final year at DePaul University. She grew up in Toledo, Ohio, has three siblings, and one beloved miniature schnauzer named Delilah. She has spent a lot of time participating in all kinds of art and performance: theatrical, musical, graphic, etc. This love for visual storytelling fostered her love for filmmaking, and she has had a camera in hand since she can remember. She loves to sing and is a founder of an a Cappella group at DePaul. She hopes to pursue a career in documentary filmmaking so she can continue to tell stories of real issues and real people.

Aubree Buschert - Columbia College, BFA. Aubree Buschert is from a small town named Rockford just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She discovered a love for editing in her high school’s TV Studio class and it sent her here to Chicago. Now, she’s a graduating senior at Columbia College Chicago and looking forward to getting real experience in the industry. When she’s not working at Starbucks, she’s often found curled up in bed watching TV watching TV with her cats.
